GOVERNANCE BRIEF

A wise woman once said,“When every man focuses on investing in two of his daughters he is guaranteed to positively influence the future generations in the society.”
Today’s daughters are tomorrow’s leaders. Their knowledge and skills do not go with them to their graves but are passed on to their children. We plan, act, and hope for a world where women and girls can achieve their full potential and walk freely/proudly, feeling honoured and valued by every member of the community. That is the goal that we’re working towards

As part of giving back and staying in touch with our wonderful family of Sisters, many alumni work with RCWG in various forms, giving their time, talents and even resources to ensure the sustainability of our work is assured.

RCWG is proud of this. We sent out a call looking for support for the design development for our new strategic plan and our call was answered by Ife Olonade an Alumni of our programme. Currently, Ife is working in the United Kingdom an associate project manager.

Thank you Ife, we are excited and proud to have you as one of our Vipepeos. And thank you all other Alumni! Thank you for your creativity, commitment and wonderful energy.

BEHIND THE PINK GATE

Safe spaces are critical for the autonomy that many Girls need to develop. As part of the larger women’s movement agenda, RCWG has created a unique safe space, behind our Pink Gate. This is a space where adolescent Girls can develop social assets, political awareness, talk together and decide what their own needs and wants are.

BTPG is a safe entry point for difficult discussions and decisions.
BTPG is a space where Girls can bond without patriarchal interruptions of any kind.
BTPG is an active political strategy where young Kenyan Women and adolescent Girls can become conscious about themselves and their environment, and also define their own ideas as individuals and as a constituency of SISTERS that is affected by patriarchal laws and practices!
It is a space for self-reflection and celebration; and, it is safe.
