RCWG’s crisis response was piloted at the height of the Covid-19 pandemic to respond to and support our constituents navigate a crisis of an unprecedented nature which saw girls bearing the biggest brunt. This was done through care packages distribution and demonstrated a great amount of solidarity and sisterhood to our constituents based in 30+ counties
The Covid-19 pandemic forced the government to implement lockdown measures that led to loss of livelihoods for many families. This had a particularly adverse impact on young Women and Girls, who struggled to obtain essential necessities like food and menstrual hygiene products.
In response to this crisis, RCWG initiated the SiS Fund program to provide monetary support to sisters to meet these needs at a critical time at their point of need and convenience. These funds were issued without bureaucracy and enabled us to reach sisters at their point of need.
