The RCWG is an international, award-winning feminist organization based in Machakos, Kenya. We are boldly committed to nurturing the vast power of Adolescent Girls and Young Women from rural and underserved areas of Kenya.
At RCWG, we believe that girls are not problems to be fixed—they are the sharpest voices to reimagine the world. Anchored in the truth that girls are powerful, we invest in creating safe spaces where they can name their challenges, imagine their own futures, and lead change from the front.
We work to dismantle the systems that silence and shrink girls. In their place, we build feminist ecosystems where girls feel safe, seen, and supported to rise. Our work is unapologetic
Through our Girls’ Leadership Retreat, we offer transformative spaces for Adolescent Girls and Young Women to sharpen their voice, lead with courage, and organize powerfully in their schools and communities. We believe that when girls are trusted, resourced, and heard, they become the most impactful architects of liberation.
We are thrilled to announce that applications are now open for the 2025 cohort of our flagship Girls’ Leadership Retreat.
Be an Adolescent Girl or Young Woman between 15–17 years
Be ready to commit to a 3-year journey with us
Come from a rural or rural-urban (informal settlement) area
Be creative, open-minded, and eager to explore something different
Be willing to start a school club and/or a community project
Be ready to pay a Ksh. 500 commitment fee (refundable after program completion)
